Born in Atkinson, Maine, son of Silas Bunker and Hannah Berry. Early life; visit to Kirtland, ohio, where he heard Martin Harris bear testimony of the Book of Mormon; conversion to Mormonism, 1845; activities at Nauvoo, Illinois; marriage to Emily Abbot, 1846; conversion to Mormonism of Emily Abbot, 1840; exodus west; member of the Mormon Battalion; arriva in the Salt Lake Valley, 1847; settlement in Ogden, Utah; marriage to Mary McQuarrie; move to Sant Clara, Utah, then to Clover, Utah; removal to Bunkerville, Nevada; move to Moreles, Mexico.
